Electronic Copies Received
Brotherhood of Dwarves by D. A. Adams - I posted about this 'un a little while ago. Basically, it's what the title says. There are some dwarves. They have a brotherhood. They kick ass. I'm fairly certain there could be a bit more to it than that, but I don't know for sure. But based upon the cover alone, it looks like something I'll enjoy.
Overkill by Steven Shrewsbury - More fantasy goodness, but this one involves a 700 year old warrior who's called back into the service of the queen to save a kidnapped princess. Oh yeah, and to kick ass. I've heard a little bit more about this one, and it sounds like something in the vein of The Black Company, which, I needn't tell you, makes me cream my jeans.
Angelkiller by H. David Blalock - I also plugged this genre-bending novel not too long ago. It's part thriller, part horror, and part sci-fi (cyberpunk, it sounds like). I hear good things about it, so I'm eagerly awaiting the chance to read it. Hell, I'm eagerly awaiting my chance to read all these magnificent books.
So now that I’ve shown you mine, it’s time to show me yours. What was in your mailbox this week?

I got Blood of Heroes by James Donovan, a telling of the Battle of the Alamo, and an advance copy of A Fatal Debt by John Gapper. You may be interested in reading the other novel I got this past week, The Lifeboat by Charlotte Rogan. The story follows a young woman as she attempts to survive after a shipwreck. It also details a murder trial and provides some interesting insights into the world during the early 20th century. I am currently hosting a giveaway of the novel, so follow the link below if you are interested.

Wow, sounds pretty cool, Ethan. Thanks for letting me know.
DeleteAre we doing a different Monday Mailbox picture every week? Well now I am on a mission to top you. Yes, yes I am.
ReplyDeleteYes ma'am, we are. And you can bring it on. ;)
DeleteI love all the different mailbox pictures. Also, Brotherhood of Dwarves? What's not to love? I'm picturing Warwick Davis from "Willow" as the protagonist.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Erin. But I have a feeling, Warwick Davis couldn't hold a candle to these guys. Shrink down old Madmartigan, give him a beard and a battle axe, and maybe then you'd get more of a resemblance. ;)
DeleteJonathan, in response to your post on my blog for The Testament of Jessie Lamb by Jane Rogers (http://manoflabook.com/wp/?p=5350) Have you read Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs (http://manoflabook.com/wp/?p=3122)?
ReplyDeleteCan't say I have. Is it a good one?
