Mailbox
Monday is a weekly meme started by Marcia at Mailbox Monday in which bloggers
can ramble on about the books they received/bought/stole over a given week.
Each month a new blogger hosts the meme, and this month it’s Kristen at Book’n Around.

Ashes
Ashes the Twins Fall Down by Pauline L. Hawkins – The official book blurb on Amazon asks the question, “Where were you on
9/11?” Me, I was in my senior year of
high school, sitting in my Western Civilization class, watching live as the
second plane hit. It hardly seems like
it’s been 11 years since it happened. In
her debut book, author Pauline Hawkins writes about her and her family’s
reactions to the 9/11 terror attacks. In
addition to her personal testimony, Pauline also provides political background,
social commentary, and information on the deeds of everyday citizens during
that day of crisis. To find out more
about the book, check out Pauline’s
blog or follow her on Twitter
or Facebook.
The
Chupacabra: a Borderline Crazy Tale of Coyotes, Cash & Cartels by Stephen Randel – As soon as I heard about Stephen Randel’s madcap thriller, The Chupacabra, I knew I had to read
it. It’s the tale of a paranoid
conspiracy theorist named Avery and how he unwittingly foils the plans of a vicious
border gun smuggler named El Barquero. It’s
a dark comedy of adventury stretching from Austin
to the West Texas border and features crazy
civilian border militias, Bingo-crazed elderly ladies, a cartel boss, and a
myriad of other lunatics that populate the desert. Stephen might be doing a guest post at some
point along the line, but until then, you can find out more about him and his
book by heading over to Amazon (the link above), Goodreads,
or hell, give him a shout on his email. He loves fan mail—don’t we all?
And now that I’ve showed you mine, it’s time to
show me yours. What did you get in your mailbox this week?
I was lazy and didn't post this week. I'm horrible. Your pic rocks. You win for sure this week :p
ReplyDeleteIt's easy to win when no one is competing against you. But thanks. ;)
DeleteI just love the word Chupacabra and might have to read that one simply to be able to post the title. ;-) Happy reading this week.
ReplyDeleteI know, right? Chupacabra is a jam-up word. Thanks for dropping by, Kristen.
DeleteI've heard of neither of these titles but I did get my yearly shipment of books from home. About 30 books in all. It was like Christmas in the fall.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your books...so many titles I have never heard of on your blog and on other blogs.

Besides, most payday advance expenses depend on the length of the loan. The standard APR for most organizations falls into the 400 percent extend. For instance, assume you were to obtain $100 at an expense of $20 for a 2 week time frame and in the event that you didn't pay if for a year, your administration charge would be $520 for a 520% APR. To which you have to make sure to include the first $100 that you acquired. Check Cashing Oceanside
